To think that the internet began just by linking several computers together and from there became a useful tool used by the government and educational institutions. But how does it work?
The internet is a network of computers that communicate by standard sets of rules. The internet allows computers to link together by these connection standards called protocols. Protocols allow data to transmit and be received. What has made the internet so powerful and popular. The answer is the world wide web. The world wide web by way of the internet, allows users to hook or link to other computers in order to share information. Hyperlinks and hyper text are protocols used in order to view and download web pages.
There are many ways to connect to the internet. No longer does a person have to be at the office or at home using a PC. Laptops, PDA's and smart phones are portable meaning that people and business can connect time and almost anywhere.
Advances in technology have created faster high speed connections and the future looks for unimaginable forms to be the norm. Business and the way people connect will continue to evolve making the world smaller . Where will the next break through take us?
